After her parents divorced, Qian Xi Xi (Wu Jin Yan) lived with the wealthy Duan family and grew up together with their son Duan Ran (Johnny Huang). Due to their different social status and personalities, the two often clashed. Later on, Xi Xi gets a job in the online streaming industry, and Duan Ran, who believes that this industry has a lot of potential, purchases the company she works at and becomes her new boss.
The Sound of the Bell at Shanghai Bund tells the story of a common family living in the alleys of old Shanghai from the Cultural Revolution till the days of reform and opening. Du Xin Sheng (Yu Hao Ming) and Yu Pei Pei are classmates who have deep affection for each other. Pei Pei’s grandmother, however, is a professor at the conservatory and denounced as reactionary by the Red Guards. In order to prevent the Red Guards from taking away the precious Italian cello in Pei Pei’s home, Xin Sheng goes to his father who does maintenance work at the bell tower at the Bund and they hide the cello in there. When more and more young people from the city are being sent to the countryside, the Du family’s eldest daughter Xin Fang is determined to follow as well. But when the unmarried Xin Fang gets pregnant in the countryside, the Du family is being confronted with a huge challenge.
The Legend of Hao Lan depicts the fights between the Qin and the Zhao state towards the end of the Warring States period. After Zhao’s imperial censor Li He gets caught in a trap and goes bankrupt, his daughter Li Hao Lan (Wu Jin Yan) is sold to Lü Bu Wei (Nie Yuan). Bu Wei will later offer her to the King of Qin Sun Yi Ren (Mao Zi Jun) who is held hostage in Zhao’s palace. Bu Wei and Hao Lan enter the palace where they have to outwit Princess Ya (Hai Ling) and others who try to harm them.
The drama is set towards the end of the Shang dynasty when Di Xin (Bao Jian Feng), the king of Shang, achieved extraordinary things and brought the Shang dynasty to its peak. At this time, the capital of Shang is moved to Zhaoge. There, the son of Ji Chang, the king of Zhou, Ji Fa (Zhang Zhe Han) is voluntarily hold hostage instead of his older brother. While in Zhaoge, Ji Fa diligently studies and practices martial arts. Furthermore, he sympathizes with the people, whose living circumstances are getting worse and worse after Di Xin’s expiditons, and tries to help everywhere. In the end, he will turn over the country and become the first king of the Zhou dynasty.
