The CCTV New Year’s Gala, also known as Spring Festival Gala or Chunwan (春晚), is not only the biggest TV event of the Chinese New Year, but even has an entry in the Guinness World Records as the most watched TV program worldwide! Around 700 million to one billion viewers tune in every year on Chinese New Year’s Eve to watch the 4-hour-long show that offers a broad variety of acts, including sketches, music and dance performances, acrobatics and martial arts.
The continuation of the first season is set in the modern world. The overbearing CEO Lin Ye (Chen Bo Lin) is a young and promising scientist who founded his own company to research a new energy that can save the world from pollution and disaster. Female reporter Tong Feng (Jing Tian) becomes acquainted with Lin Ye after interviewing him. After a series of misunderstandings, the two grow attached to each other and join hands in the fight to protect the environment. But an old friend of Lin Ye appears and plans to steal his research results.
A story revolving around the God of Fire (Chen Bo Lin), the God of Wind (Jing Tian) and the ensuing romance between them as they risk their lives for the sake of their homeland. Thousands of years ago, there was a beautiful planet amongst the stars where the deities lived. Among them, there were six powerful gods who maintained the peace in the realms. During a dangerous battle with dark forces, the deities suffer a huge blow. The God of Wind is nowhere to be found after rescuing the God of Fire. In order to find an alternate energy source to save their home, Fire travels to the glorious age of Tang dynasty where he meets a person who looks exactly like his long-lost love, the God of Wind, and ignites a complicated romance between them.
