At the beginning of the 20th century, Weng Quan Hai (Chen Bao Guo), a descendant of the famous ‘Menghe Medical School’, draws on the strengths of all the medical schools to protect and develop Traditional Chinese Medicine. He leaves his hometown for Shanghai to embark on his inherited career. After some turbulent twists and turns, he eventually becomes a famous doctor in Shanghai with noble medical ethics and exquisite medical skills. His celebrated path takes a severe turn when in 1929, the National Government passes a Repeal Act on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Weng Quan Hai, furious about this legislative ban is subsequently elected as the representative of all Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors to protest the Act. His reputation and fame grow even further. But transformation is ever present. Facing the fall of Shanghai, Weng Quan Hai actively participates in the anti-Japanese war, making ever greater contribution to the protection of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

[Finished Airing] The Story of Ming Lan

Set in the Northern Song dynasty, the story revolves around Sheng Ming Lan (Zhao Li Ying), the unfavoured sixth daughter of an official. After being mistreated by her legal mother and bullied by her half-sisters, Ming Lan learns to hide her skills and true intentions, and ultimately succeeds in avenging her biological mother’s death. She meets Gu Ting Ye (Feng Shao Feng), who initially dislikes her but after witnessing her wits and intelligence, decides to help her. They eventually fall in love with each other. After Gu Ting Ye becomes a powerful official, he successfully makes Ming Lan his wife. As his wife, Ming Lan helps guard against his unpleasant relatives and purges the court of corrupt ministers.
