[Finished Airing] Flipped in My Youth

Flipped in My Youth depicts the life of an ordinary married couple, how they overcome hardships together and both mature over ten years. In the 1990s, roadman Chen Ye (Shawn Wei) falls in love at first sight with the department store clerk Li Zhao Di (Jiang Yan). He tricks her into marrying him by promising her that he will take the TOEFL test and emigrate with her, turning her into a wealthy expat lady. Meanwhile, Zhao Di has been pampered by her family since litte, and her temper comes to light when the newlyweds start living together. In order to help her husband concentrate on taking the test, she takes care of the whole household, but Chen Ye still fails in the end. Moreover, Chen Ye even loses his job and Zhao Di is found out to be infertile. Zhao Di falls into despair and starts questioning whether she made the right decision.

[Finished Airing] Hope All Is Well With Us

Xiang Qian (Yang Shuo) is the son of common workers while Xun Zhao (Liu Tao) is from a literary family. The two fall in love and decide to marry against Xun Zhao’s parents’ wishes. Xiang Qian, who has to rely on his own intelligence and hard work, spends all his time working in order to go up the ladder in a famous investment company. In the meanwhile, Xun Zhao has given up everything to become a housewife after their marriage, but can’t adapt to it. The relationship between Xiang Qian and Xun Zhao deteriorates more and more. When Xun Zhao gets diagnosed with depression, she is afraid of affecting their son Hao Han (Hummer Zhang) and thus decides to leave the family. After their divorce, Xiang Qian fails at work as well and has to pull through his son and himself without any money. Only when he meets Alisa (Gina Jin), he finally faces himself and stands up again. Xun Zhao, on the other hand, wants to start life anew, but coincidentally becomes her ex-husband’s new girlfriend’s assistant.

[Finished Airing] A Splendid Life In Beijing

A Splendid Life In Beijing depicts the life of four brothers from their young years in the 1970s, when they grow up as ordinary people in Beijing’s alleys, till their fourties. Misfortune strikes when the oldest brother (Jiang Wu) accidentally kills his neighbor with a fruit knife while fooling around. He has to pay for his actions and goes to jail. The second oldest brother (Zhang Jia Yi)’s dream is to have his own successful business. He starts out by buying and reselling mung bean sprouts, then opens his own mutton stall and later enters the fashion market. Even though his businesses continuously fail, he doesn’t give up. But he doesn’t only show persistence towards his work, he’s also persistent in pursuing his love. The second youngest brother (Guo Jing Lin) throws himself into the stock market right after graduating from university. At the same time, he becomes entangled in a love triangle. Finally, the youngest brother (Jeremy Qu) has asthma and stammers. In order to not be a burden to his family, he trains hard and diligently practices tongue twisters and comic dialogues. He later becomes a postman and finds his true love through his job.

[Finished Airing] Ordinary Person Character

The former reporter Zhan Da Peng (Lin Yong Jian), whose special field were crisis regions, now is a distinguished producer. But when his wife, who works at the same company, separates from him, he loses both his family and job and enters into a life crisis. The newbie at work Chang Ge (Jiang Xin) admires Da Peng and follows him around. In the end, they try to make a new program under simple conditions together and have to deal with many hardships in the process. However, fate strikes again and Da Peng learns that his life is in danger due to a shrapnel in his head that he got on a former trip into a war region. Hence, he focuses on helping his son fulfill his dream of starting his own venture and nurtures his broken relationship with his family. At the same time, he continues working on a new program.

After Yang Jin Gang (Zhang Jia Yi) gets released from prison, his daughter Yang Xiao Yang (Wang Yi Zhe) presents him the boy she wants to marry, Ren Shao Peng (Zhang Yi Shan). But Jin Gang has to discover that Shao Peng is equally a rebellious youth as he used to be in the old days. Furthermore, Jin Gang holds a grudge towards Shao Peng’s family, so he tries to stop the marriage at all costs. When he realizes that the two young people are truly in love and he can’t break them apart, he tries to “reform” his son-in-law.

To save him from being viewed as a hoodlum, Duo Duo decides to marry Da Bao.

Tiger Father Dog Son tells the story of a family of four, while focusing on the clashing relationship between father and son. Chang Bao Tong (Han Tou Sheng) is a middle school teacher who is very strict in the upbringing of his two children, son Tian Zi (Jing Chao) and daughter Jia Hui (Zhang Jia Ning). His wife Xiao Tao (Tao Hui Min), however, is a caring housewife and mother. Troublemaker Tian Zi fails the university entrance exam for the second time, but Jia Hui manages to get into the university her father chose for her. While pushing his son to retake preparatory classes, Bao Tong has to realize that he can’t control the life of his daughter like before, now that she entered university.
