Hua Bu Qi (Ariel Lin) has been following her uncle and wandering around since she was a child. One day, she meets an admirable swordsman named Lian Yi Ke (Zhang Bin Bin) and falls for him. But Lian Yi Ke is in fact Chen Yu, the only son of the 7th Prince who plans to seize the throne. Any hopes of a life together as a couple are thus dashed. Hua Bu Qi barely escapes death and flees. On top of that, she learns that she is already promised to Dong Fang Shi (Austin Lin), whose grandfather wants to use her because she holds the key to a treasure. Dong Fang Shi, however, falls in love with Hua Bu Qi and tries to avoid harming her in any way.
